Program Info

This workshop gives children the chance to act on stage. All participants get a role and even have the opportunity to give their creative input. Our unique approach teaches kids many things they can apply to their regular every day life. All this can be accomplished in our stree-free environment where children also make new friends through the magic of theatre.

This program is offered three times during the school year: fall, winter & spring. Children ages 7 & up are invited to join us Saturday mornings from 10am to 12noon to play interactive theatre games and perform improvised scenes.

Gavin Coffing, the director, and the staff carefully work with the young actors to increase their awareness of stage presence. Among many other things, we focus on self-confidence, voice projection, creativity, & encouragement. Ultimately, the children will gain a friendly understanding of how fun theatre can really be. No one is left behind, all participants are cast in a play.

Once the children are more comfortable acting and improvising scenes, Gavin writes an original play, creating individual roles for each child. Everyone, including parents, get to see the process unfold. Characters are developed and the actors give their performance at the Markham Little Theatre at Willow Glen Middle School.

Willow Glen Children's Theatre Connection Workshop is truly unique and promises to give each child and family an experience to remember!
