Announcing the Renaming of the WGCT Scholarship Fund
For decades, the Willow Glen Children's Theatre has opened its doors to young people of all backgrounds, offering a creative home where children can build confidence, develop life skills, and find their voice on stage. In 2014, the program deepened its commitment to ensuring every child has the opportunity to participate by creating a scholarship fund.
Today, we are proud to share an exciting and meaningful new chapter.
In honor of our founding director, Gavin Coffing, whose vision and leadership shaped WGCT into the vibrant, inclusive community it is today, the scholarship fund will be renamed The Gavin Coffing Scholarship Fund.
Since founding WGCT in 1988, Gavin created a unique and collaborative theater experience where every child is encouraged to contribute, grow, and shine. This renaming recognizes his lasting impact and celebrates the countless young lives transformed through his dedication to creativity, mentorship, and access.
The Gavin Coffing Scholarship Fund will continue to provide need-based support, helping ensure that the magic of theater remains accessible to all who wish to take part. As we look to the future, this fund stands not only as a tribute to Gavin’s legacy, but as a commitment to carrying his vision forward and welcoming every child to the stage, just as he always intended.
